Golden Rat Tail' is a succulent of the family Cactaceae. Cleistocactus winteri is a branching columnar cactus of fairly rapid growth that forms huge mounds of long golden colored drooping stems that are covered in short bristly spines. It produces vivid orange to salmon-pink flowers in spring and summer. It is best suited in a hanging basket as the pendant stems reach up to 40 inches in length. Requires filtered bright light, partial sun or light shade, a loose well-draining cactus mix and moderate watering. (Pot size: 6" basket)
