Thunbergia kirkii is a small evergreen shrub with a height of 2-3 feet tall. It is a native of tropical eastern Africa with small blue-violet flowers that bloom intermittently and unusual foliage that is rhomboid-shaped with toothed margins. So far it has performed well in South Florida trials. It prefers part shade but may also do well with sun if given enough water. It is not drought tolerant. Prefers moist, well-drained soil.
